We’re pleased to share that at this year’s virtual Annual General Meeting of #TRATON SE, shareholders voted in favor of all items on the agenda by a large majority. The actions of the Executive and Supervisory Boards for fiscal year 2024, as well as the remuneration report, were approved. Did you know that today's electric motors in vehicles are more than 90% efficient? And the entire power system can reach up to 80% efficiency. That's why #BatteryElectric vehicles (BEVs) are the cornerstone of our #TRATONGROUP decarbonization strategy. #TOGETHER with our brands Scania Group, MAN Truck & Bus SE, International and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, we are committed to phasing out fossil fuels and achieving CO₂-neutrality by 2050. While we will primarily rely on battery-powered drive systems to do our part, we're also investigating other potential technologies, including fuel cells and biodiesel, to achieve our #sustainability goals. Here's a brief overview of some alternative drive technologies: 🔋 Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs): Offer high energy efficiency and are ready for widespread adoption with the right infrastructure. 💧 Hydrogen fuel cells: Green hydrogen is CO2-neutral and locally emission-free. Hydrogen fuel cells today have an efficiency of roughly 25% today, the remainder is lost in the chain of hydrogen production, storage & transport, and regenerative power generation. 💧 Hydrogen combustion engines: Green hydrogen is CO2-neutral and locally emission-free. Currently less efficient than diesel. 🌱 Biofuels: CO2-neutral as only the CO2 that was previously bound in the organic material is released. However, they're not locally emission-free. Biofuels are approaching diesel in terms of efficiency. ⛽️ E-fuels: E-fuels are produced from hydrogen and carbon. They are not locally emission-free, as green hydrogen only releases the previously used CO2. The efficiency of E-fuels is < 15%, the rest is lost through conversions. ⚡ E-Highways: The climate footprint of e-highways depends on the source of the electricity, so they have the potential to be CO2-neutral. E-highways have an efficiency of up to 80% of the electric drive, comparable to battery-powered drive systems based on charging infrastructure. Want to get more insights? What will it take to keep Europe at the forefront of the shift to #sustainable #transport? 🌱 As chairman of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) Commercial Vehicles Board, our #TRATONGROUP CEO, Christian Levin, reflects on his first 100 days in this important role and stresses the urgency of strategic #collaboration between manufacturers and policymakers.🤝 "If Europe is serious about leading in sustainable transport, suitable charging networks must be built at scale", Levin states. "That requires a coordinated approach, flanked with forward-thinking policies." #ElectricVehicles top the agenda. ⚡️🚛 Today, they make up just 2% of new trucks in Europe, but the target is 35% by 2030. To get there, we need "smart, practical policies" that drive investment and #innovation, and the right conditions for the whole ecosystem to support zero-emission vehicles. #TRATON advocates for: 🔎 An earlier review of EU CO2 standards, before 2027 🔌 Faster rollout of charging infrastructure and Megawatt Charging Systems (#MCS) ⚡️ Streamlined approval processes and faster grid expansion 📋️ Policy measures like adjustments to the weight & dimensions directive, the extension of the road toll exemption and stronger demand-side policies. Today, we released our financial KPIs for the first quarter of 2025. As expected, the #TRATONGROUP got off to a slow start to 2025, yet we expect an improved business performance in the second half of the year due to a renewed increase in incoming orders. On the back of this, our full-year outlook is maintained. Our financial KPIs at a glance: ➡️ Sales revenue: €10.6 billion in the first quarter of 2025, 10% below the prior-year quarter ➡️ Adjusted operating result: €646 million, compared to €1,106 million the previous year ➡️ Adjusted operating return on sales: 6.1%, a decrease of 3.3 percentage points year-on-year 🚛 Incoming orders: 74,300 vehicles, an increase of 12% year-on-year 🚚 Unit sales: 73,100 vehicles, a decrease of 10% year-on-year Despite a continued unfavorable economic and political situation, the TRATON GROUP delivered a solid performance in the first quarter. Christian Levin, CEO of the TRATON GROUP, remains cautiously optimistic about the future. "Incoming orders are rising again, up by 12% in the first quarter year-on-year, and by a remarkable 56% in Europe. The demand for battery electric vehicles is also gaining pace: we managed to double unit sales in the first quarter. This #EarthDay, we at the #TRATONGROUP want to shine a light on our commitment to #circularity and a more sustainable #FutureOfTransport.🌍 Since 1970, global resource consumption has nearly quadrupled, growing at an annual rate of 2.3% (UN Global Resources Outlook 2024). With its significant resource footprint, the #transport industry is standing at the crossroads of challenge and change.
